(As a taster, here is a picture of one corner of the kitchen. It looks better in the photo than in real life. In real life, it almost looks like we might have killed some guy and not cleaned up. What actually happened, as the picture makes reasonably clear, is that five years ago a lava lamp at the back of the pile of boxes we keep in that bit of the kitchen got broken and leaked on the floor. We realised about this when we threw out the broken lava lamp after a few years, but we didn't have the energy to go behind all the boxes, because we knew at some point in the next few years the kitchen would be redone so there wasn't any point.)
The world is more straightforward than you think. (Unless you're one of THOSE people, of course, in which case it is more complicated.)

inspiring photo essay news
I know that you guys love the IPEs, so I want you to know that we are in early days of photojournalism for number iii), which will cover the inspiring installation of the new kitchen. I have taken what we in photoessays call the 'before' shots. Some of you will be lucky enough to have a crude sense of what this might mean. The 'after' shots will be taken after the 'during' shots, during the shooting of which I am posting this post.

Re-doing your kitchen is HUGE news. Does this mean that you are also getting that hole in the floor fixed so that your dinner guests can venture into the kitchen without risking a broken ankle? I look forward to following this particular IPE with great interest. E x
I do not want to prejudice the outcome of this IPE. Kitchen will be completed Tuesday, says the soothsayer. And the kitchen installer.
